Did anything happen in October during the American Revolution? Well, there was the victory at Saratoga in October 1777 and the culmination of the Yorktown Campaign in 1781, of course. The Battle of Germantown, also in 1777, had an effect on French intervention. On October 31, after you fill your bag with candy, or empty your bowl of candy to Trickor-Treaters, check out the next “Rev War Revelry” at 7 p.m. on Emerging Revolutionary War’s Facebook page. There is a connection to another October event: Halloween. On November 12-14, you can join Emerging Revolutionary War for the first annual bus tour, which will take you to Trenton and other sites attributed to the “Ten Crucial Days” of the American Revolution. In the Southern Theater, there was an engagement at a place called King’s Mountain, where Patrick Ferguson was killed by a host of backcountry warriors from Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, and over the mountains in what is now Tennessee.
