Image of War Seminar In Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C.—Many Image of War seminar veterans consider the 2007 seminar in Charleston, South Carolina, to be one of the best, and we have every expectation to match or exceed that standard when we return to Charleston one decade later, on Oct. 13-15, 2017, for our 17th annual gathering. The Center for Civil War Photography will repeating the smashing success of our 2007 gourmet dinner cruise around

Charleston Harbor and will include a new 3-D show as well as onsite 3-D display boards to provide our exclusive 4-D Civil War visual experiences. Our Saturday tour will include a visit to Fort Moultrie, which was a military bastion in three centuries, from the Revolutionary War through World War II. And we’ll also visit Fort Sumter, where we will have the fort all to ourselves for a time, where the war begin, and where the first combat action photograph was taken by George S. Cook in 1863. We will also caravan to new places where Civil War photographers went such as the Old Citadel and see some of the historic city. We’ll have all of our usual treats, ranging from our photo quiz to our memorabilia-packed auction and raffle, which will include a generous selection of vintage Civil War photographs. Christine Eadie, known as the Charleston TinTypist, will give our annual wet plate demonstration and will be the first woman to do so.
