By Jack Melton We had a great time on our trip to Gettysburg for the Civil War show presented by the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association in June. We always enjoy the opportunity to visit with old friends and to make new acquaintances and, of course, to visit and photograph the battlefield. Both Peggy and I would like to extend a special “Thank you” to the owners, Loring and Jean Shultz for their gracious hospitality during our stay at the Farnsworth House Inn. We were greeted by the couple every morning while they tended to the gardens on the property. The staff was always courteous and professional and the game pie, well, what can I say? Delicious!. We certainly look forward to our next stay there. On another note, the Confederate monument controversy is not going away. We encourage you to write us with your objective comments (no rants, name calling, or other forms of hate are allowed). Correction: in the article “Third
Battle of Winchester” video in the July issue of Civil War News. The photographer (Michele Fletcher) who provided the photos was not credited.
