Confederate Monuments An Objective Discussion

The Confederate monument controversy has grown from New Orleans to Baltimore, St. Louis, parts of Florida and other cities across the country. This movement to remove anything Confederate related is a hot topic and can be found on social media or printed media almost daily. When and why did it this movement to remove Confederate monuments start? Is it being funded by other organizations? What is the final objective of the movement? There have been many theories published. Should we leave them or remove them? Is it an attempt to erase history? If so, why? Do these monuments represent white supremacy or do they represent proud heritage? Are they considered offensive and racist?
