Civil War News announces that there will now be 12 issues a year instead of 11. The annual subscription will go up slightly to cover the extra printing and mailing costs. By adding full color, additional four pages and going to twelve issues per year, Civil War News publishes more events, book reviews, columns, articles and other news related stories than any other publication. Starting with the January 2017 issue, Civil War News will have a newsstand price of $3.50. The November Book Issue will publish information from any organization that presented an award in 2016 to an author for their published book. Please send us a descriptive paragraph along with photographs for that book issue. These book awards need to be submitted by Sept. 26th at the latest. Email to [email protected]. Keep the articles flowing. Thank you to all of the authors who submitted their articles for this issue. The heated and passionate debate on what the causes of the Civil War are over in the pages of Civil War News. It seems this argument will long survive all of us and probably never be settled. Personally, I would rather read articles that didn’t raise my blood pressure, and many of our readers have expressed the same feeling. Despite all of the attention given to the Confederate flag lately, interest in the Civil War has not diminished. Battlefield and historic site tours, Civil War seminars and national park attendance are all still quite popular, while participation in reenactments, living history, shows and skirmishes continue to remain steady.
