Lincoln Museum Collection Goes To State Museum & County Library In Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The $20 million Lincoln Museum collection of Fort Wayne was removed from the museum in July for its new homes at the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis and Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne.

CVBT Has Option To Buy 93 Acres At Wilderness Battlefield

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — While the effort to halt Wal-Mart’s plans to build a huge supercenter on the Wilderness Battlefield in central Virginia seemingly falters, a historic preservation group has acquired an option to buy 93 acres of land on that same battlefield, about one mile away from the proposed Wal-Mart site.

Funds Needed For Payment On Carter Cotton Gin Site

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Preservationists trying to save the Carter Cotton Gin site at the center of the Franklin Battlefield must raise close to $53,000 in order to make a $221,000 payment due in early September.

Reenactors To March For South Mountain & CWPT
MIDDLETOWN, Md. – Citizens for the Preservation of Middletown Valley (CPMV) will sponsor a Union reenactors’ march to commemorate the Battle of South Mountain on Saturday, Sept. 12. The battle was Sept. 14, 1862.
